In 2013, I suffered a neck injury that brought on an extended period of suffering with TMJ pain, headaches, brain fog, and just about every other symptom you can imagine for well over a year. I was referred to Dr. Austin by my dentist in 2014 and started therapy that summer. Everything Dr. Austin was telling me sounded like pseudoscience. It was the exact opposite of what my GP had told me. Within two weeks of starting therapy, every single symptom I had been experiencing went away. The combination of e-stim therapy, muscle strengthening, and the night guard fixed me. It was incredible.

Dr Austin is very knowledgeable but he is unlike other Dentists who do sleep apnea devices. He drags this out for months and you pay thousands for the mouth device and $100 every visit you have to go back in there. Other Dentists who do this are all inclusive just the price for mouthpiece and others visits to get it fitted you are not charged for. I would look for alternatives to Dr Austin.

I was a patient here over 10 years ago when I couldn't open my mouth due to a TMJ disorder. I will say that the treatment and physical therapy provided did help me to regain jaw mobility which was a miracle to me at the time. I remember everyone as kind and the physical therapy was a very comfortable experience. Probably where a lot of the 5 star reviews are coming from. However, they weren't clear on pricing until it was time to discontinue care and it was much more expensive than my family was led to believe and they didn't take insurance. Also a victim of the $2000 bite guard that was useless as soon as my teeth shifted around. Not a product that should've been fitted for a 14 y/o child whose X-RAY clearly shows a new tooth coming in. Additionally, I'm still not familiar with what was true that came out of the doctors mouth but he told me that tmj disorder was equivalent to arthritis of the jaw and that if I continued to have poor posture and sleep on my stomach I would eventually choke on my tongue in my sleep and die. Which looking back totally seem like scare tactics to get us to purchase all the things he was selling. Just wanted to share my experience as someone that was tr

AMAZING!!! During my consultation, I knew I was in the right place. Dr.Austin is so knowledgeable. He explained exactly what was going on in my jaw. After 4 weeks of not being able to open my jaw, I had positive results after only 1 therapy! Anxiously awaiting my next appointment. I have had a great experience with everyone in that office. Highly recommend!

After your first appointment with Dr. Austin, you know you’re in the right place. I’ve struggled with TMJ, facial, and neck pain for years. He explained the mechanics of my issues and the treatment plan to address them in a kind and understandable way. Bonus: his team is amazing. Best relief I’ve had in 10 years!

Dr Austin is nice, but he lingers on, speaking in tangents, so it won't be a short visit. And he requires seeing you before each check out. He explained I'd be getting a mandibular advancement device and I was fitted for a bite guard, which he reshapes at each visit (not sure of the need for this). I continuously asked for a bill over the 2 months I came in, twice a week. The desk explained it would be sent out at the end of the month. After 2 months of the only improvement being the ability to open my mouth wider (sleep not improved, tension not improved, some pain relief) I received a bill for $2000 (yes, I have insurance, didn't matter, wasn't covered and I wasn't made aware). The front desk is very kind, as are the therapy providers. There are minimal wait times, clean office, decent parking.

I went to Dr. Austin for TMJ pain. He and his staff treated me with electrical stimulation and then taught me some exercises that have alleviated the pain without the use of any drugs or surgery. He also replaced my old night guard with a new one to prevent me from grinding my teeth. Moreover, I requested assistance from Dr. Austin on an oral appliance for sleep apnea. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good solution for me due to my TMJ issues. Dr. Austin and his staff are very friendly and have convenient office hours. Dr. Austin is very knowledgeable about physiology, and I would definitely recommend him.

While everyone at this office is polite, the level of inconvenience and lack of evidence-based practice is embarrassing. They do not contract with any insurances so expect to pay significant amount of our pocket. This wouldn’t be an issue if you actually received proper care. But you end up spending an excessive amount (2 hours in my case) of time being talked at (while other patients wait). If I’m going to see a medical/dental professional, we should not be spending the majority of time discuss you. Dr. Austin went on and on about his life story, how great and experienced how is, and pontificated about outdated and unproven treatments and therapies. It was a colossal waste of time and money. I recommend seeing Dr. Mark Levy instead. He was recommended by a family friend who is also a sleep medicine dentist and has known him for 15 years. I submitted a request for a visit and got an email from their referral coordinator right away (and it was over the weekend!). Once my records had been sent in, they called to confirm and I got a same day appointment. I was in and out in 30 minutes (including an exam, impressions, and an x-ray). I got way more information about sleep apnea, why I
